Crowns

A crown ( sometimes called a cap ) is a restoration that completely covers and restores a damaged or decayed tooth, to its normal and natural state of health. It is also useful to help protect and maintain a cracked or fractured tooth.

A crown can be used to change the shape of a tooth, to correct a bite or cosmetic problem, or to replace existing broken or poor fitting crowns. A crown can be made of metals, such as gold, silver or stainless steel, or it can be made of all porcelain or tooth color materials. You can learn more about all porcelain crowns and bridges here.

FAQ's

.Tooth Anatomy.

It normally takes two appointments to complete a crown. At the first appointment the tooth will be prepared so the crown will fit properly. Then an impression or mold, will be taken of the tooth and the surrounding areas. You will then have a 'temporary' crown put in place until your second appointment.

It will take approximately two weeks to have the crown made precisely at a dental laboratory. So after two weeks you will have your second appointment where the permanent crown will be cemented or bonded to the prepared tooth being restored.

We also have a technique which will have

your crown completed in about three days.

So if you need your new tooth promptly, we can be of service to you.
