Why do dentures need to be refitted?

Due to natural changes in the gums and bone that support your dentures, they may eventually become loose. Then it's time to visit your dentist for a simple procedure called a 'reline'. A reline is the way we refit a denture so that it conforms perfectly to your gums.

In emergencies, you can use a powder or paste adhesive to hold your dentures in place. But if the dentures aren't fitting properly, loose or unstable dentures can cause harm to your oral health.
